WELCOMING

Welcome incoming guests with a warm spirit of hospitality. Help guests find the conference room, basilica, and dining area so that they might feel right at home. Assist guests in understanding the layout of the center and its many outdoor shrines, paths and labyrinth through distribution and explanation of maps.

PHONE RECEPTIONIST

A pleasant volunteer would train under an experienced receptionist to assist in transferring incoming telephone calls, take messages, and answer basic questions about the spiritual center.

CONFERENCE & GUEST ROOM PREPARATION

Working with the housekeeper, in order to supply a comfortable and clean room for each guest, the volunteer could help get guest rooms ready by preparing clean linens, tending to other housekeeping details such as light dusting, and help to make beds. Chairs can also be arranged in various configurations in the main conference room.

MAILINGS

Twice a year the office staff of the center does a bulk mailing. The volunteer could work with the office staff to photocopy and use the folding machine to prepare flyers. They can stuff and label envelopes to help prepare for the mailing.

DATA ENTRY

The volunteer skilled in data entry can work closely with office staff in entering information into database software programs. The volunteer needs basic computer skills and accuracy in typing.

LIBRARY ASSISTANCE

A volunteer could stamp books, shelve books, and keep books in order by categories. The volunteer could also pull from the shelves ay book which seems to need repair.

GARDENING

The volunteer who loves outdoor work could assist the gardening department in keeping the grounds clean, weeding and helping to plant and water flowers.
